Brian Chard delivered online coverage of the Tour de France for VeloNews magazine and Inside Communications from Boulder, Colorado, USA. As part of an online publishing team, Brian Chard was in communications with race teams, photographers, and journalists on the race course in France. Brian Chard posted the race updates and results to millions of eager online followers. The coverage rivalled the Outdoor Life Network, the only other media company with rights to cover the race in North America at that time and the work attracted a huge community of race fans.
Also, at this time, as part of a communications team, Inside Communications was handling PR for Lance Armstrong who had been diagnosed with cancer and was in a Boulder Colorado hospital. Brian Chard’s experiences in the fast past magazine industry world set the stage for his career as a webmaster and content producer. Brian was also delighted to get to meet and ride with some of the best riders in the world, and he idolized the life of the photographers on the race scene fuelling his passion for cycling photography as well.
