Rocky Mountain Bicycles officially got its start in 1981. Since then, the originally Canadian brand has made and shipped bikes worldwide and is an international symbol of quality. The company has designed countless cycling innovations, and their sponsored athletes have won races on all of the world’s biggest stages. Brian Chard worked in-house for Rocky Mountain Bicycles as the webmaster and was part of a marketing effort that secured the domain name “bikes.com”. Brian Chard went on to position RMB at the forefront of online community development and website design amongst cycling enthusiasts and racers. The company’s online efforts resulted in a strong grass roots community of cult-like loyal customers who embraced the brand.
Besides being the webmaster for Rocky Mountain Bicycles, Brian Chard was a keen racer and helped manage the factory race team. From team race jerseys and kits to race location team support to team trailer driving responsibilities, Brian Chard helped the Rocky Mountain Bicycle brand flourish with it’s involvement in the race community and online development. The company was a pioneer in the mountain bike industry and grew rapidly over the years that followed. Brian Chard produced the website in three languages due to it’s global appeal. Rocky Mountain Bikes continues to deliver bikes to enthusiastic customers and brand loyalists worldwide.
